Repair and renovation are the most normal activities at this shipyard. KSY has so far repaired over 1800 vessels; out of these, about 50% were man of war. Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Coast Guard, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Rifles, Bangladesh Railway, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation, Sugar Mills, Power Development board are KSY's regular customers. Extensive facilities for under water and above water repair of ships including all mechanical and electrical machinery repair are available in KSY. The ancillary facilities include shore electric supply, compressed air system, sea water/fresh water supply and fire fighting system. The yard also has a machine shop capable of machine works of wide variety. Since 1957, till today, KSY has undertaken repair works of about 1900 vessels.
