Educational Background: Commodore Shawkat Imran (ND) psc, BN was commissioned in Bangladesh Navy in may 1982. He did his Pre-Commission basic Courses from Britannia Royal Naval College, UK. Also Completed his post commission ISLC Course from the same college in 1983. There after he received various courses in India, USA and Srilanka. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and staff college, Mirpur and alumni of Asia Pacific Center for Strategic Studies, Hawai.

Experience: He Commanded various types of BN Combat ships and major establishments. He served as Flag LT to Chief of the Naval Staff and in DGFI. He also served in UN Mission in Tajikistan. For a short duration he served in Bangladesh Coast Guard as Director Personnel. Before joining KSY he was acting as Naval Secretary in Navy Headquarters. He is a widely traveled person.
